INTRODUCTION
One Bead Project is an Ohio nonprofit corporation (“Company” or
“We”) dedicated to providing high-impact entrepreneurial programming to students across Boston. We respect your privacy and the privacy of students participating in our programs and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.
Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use our Website or our Services. By accessing or using this Website or by using our Services, you agree to this privacy policy.
This policy may change from time to time (see
Changes to Our Privacy Policy). Your continued use of this Website or our Services after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates. When the policy was last modified is indicated at the top of the policy.
This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our website at
www.onebead.org (our “Website”) or through our programs for youth empowerment (our “Services”), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
Specifically, this policy applies to information we collect:
- In email, text, and other electronic messages between you and the Company.
- By registering your child to participate in our Services, including without limitation (a) through our Website; (b) through a third-party website, such as DocuSign, linked from our Website or linked from an email or text message we send you; (c) using paper forms; (d) by email; or (e) through a school or other third party.
- By responding to our questions about your interest in our programs, student needs, and reactions to our programs (collectively, “Participant Questions” that we collect by various means to assist us in developing, targeting, and improving our programs. For example, Participant Questions may include inquiries like, “Have you made a difference in your community?” and “Are you confident in yourself?” and “What did you get out of the program?” We ask Participant Questions via survey platforms (e.g., SurveyMonkey and Google Forms), interviews, paper questionnaires, email, and the like.
This policy does not apply to information collected by third parties, including schools or other organizations, except where the third-party organization is explicitly collecting information on behalf of the Company.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Since our programs are focused on helping students to achieve entrepreneurial success, we are very sensitive to the privacy of minors. For this reason, we do not disseminate or otherwise disclose the personal information of our program participants without their parents’ written consent. We do not sell names to marketers or other organizations. Our Website is not intended for the use of minors, but to the extent that we help our participants to create web content, such as interviews that they conduct, we limit the personal information that is put online in association with such content. This is a collaborative process with our participants and their parents, not a one-size-fits-all policy. For example, some participants and their parents want to have just their first names referenced in videos they create, while others prefer to use their first and last names. The bottom line is that we understand the importance of maintaining our participants’ privacy.
